Special travellers

A trip that fits you, not the other way round

Morocco tours for special travellers are private trips adapted to your needs: a slower pace, shorter drives, fewer stairs, rest days, special diets or a plan for children and older travellers. With Highlights Morocco Tours you travel with your own driver and a local guide, and we adapt the route, the stops and the stays to you. Tell us about your needs, your dates and your group, and we send a free quote that confirms what is possible, with no obligation.

Every traveller is special. Some of us walk slowly, some travel with small children, some need a certain diet or a quiet room, and some prefer not to travel alone. Morocco can be wonderful for all of you, if the trip is planned around your needs.

That is why our tours are private. Your driver waits for you, your guide adjusts the pace, and we plan the days so that you rest when you need to. Tell us what matters to you, and we tell you honestly what is possible in each place.

How we adapt

Six ways we plan around your needs

What changes when the trip is built for you.

  • Slower pace

Shorter driving days, more time at each stop and rest days between the long drives.

  • Choice of stops

We choose places with easy access and leave out climbs or steps you prefer to avoid.

  • Comfortable stays

Tell us what you need, such as a ground-floor room or fewer stairs, and we confirm the options in your quote.

  • Private driver and guide

Your own driver and a local guide who speaks English or Spanish, so you set the rhythm.

  • Food that suits you

Vegetarian, vegan, halal or allergy needs passed to the places where you eat and sleep.

  • Support on the road

Help before and during your trip, and a team available 24/7 while you travel.

FAQ

Special travellers: frequently asked questions

Short answers to the questions travellers ask us before booking.

Can I travel to Morocco with reduced mobility?

Yes, many travellers with reduced mobility visit Morocco, but it needs planning. Medinas have narrow, uneven streets and steps, many riads have stairs, and some sites involve climbs. Tell us about your needs before you book, and we adapt the route, the stops and the stays, and confirm in your quote what is possible.

Do you have wheelchair accessible vehicles?

Tell us what you need, and we confirm in your quote what we can arrange for your trip. We do not promise equipment that we have not confirmed, so please write to us with the details of your mobility aid and your group.

Are your tours suitable for seniors?

Yes. Our tours are private, so we set the pace with you: shorter driving days, more time at each stop, rest days and comfortable stays. A 3 or 4-day Marrakech to Merzouga tour is a popular choice, and we can add nights to make the drives shorter.

Can I travel to Morocco with young children or a baby?

Yes. Many families travel with us. We plan shorter drives, regular stops and child-friendly activities, and we adapt the camp or the hotel to the age of your children. See our family tour from Marrakech to Merzouga, and tell us the ages of your children.

Can you adapt the tour to special diets or food allergies?

Tell us about your diet, whether it is vegetarian, vegan, halal or has allergies, before the trip. Many Moroccan dishes are vegetable-based, and we pass your needs to the places where you eat and sleep. Please remember that we cannot guarantee that a kitchen is free of allergens.

Is the Sahara desert possible if I cannot ride a camel?

Yes. The camel ride is optional. You can enjoy the sunset, the dinner and the night at the camp without riding, and we confirm the options for your route. Tell us about your needs when you ask for your quote.

Is Morocco safe for solo women or travellers who want extra support?

Many women travel alone in Morocco. A private tour with a local guide and driver gives you extra support, as you do not need to negotiate taxis or find your way in the medinas. Read our guide on whether Morocco is safe for tourists for more tips.

What health precautions should I take before travelling to Morocco?

Visit your doctor before you travel, bring enough of your regular medication in its original packaging, take travel insurance and carry water in hot weather. Tell us about any condition that affects your trip so that we plan the pace and the stops. The ambulance number in Morocco is 15.

What is the best time to travel if I prefer mild weather?

Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are usually the most comfortable seasons. Summer is very hot inland and in the desert, and winter nights in the Sahara are cold. See our best time to visit Morocco guide for a month-by-month overview.
